Whether you produce EDM, Hip-Hop, Pop, or Rock, this chain works inside any DAW.

Step 1 – Clean Up with EQ

Recommended Plugins:

  • EQ Sitral-295

  • EQ 1979

  • EQ V

What to Do:

  • Add a high-pass filter at 20–30 Hz to remove sub-rumble

  • Cut 200–400 Hz if the mix feels muddy

  • Add slight air boost around 10–16 kHz (max +1–2 dB)

  • Make very small adjustments only

🎯 Mastering EQ should be subtle — avoid large boosts or cuts.

Step 2 – Glue the Mix with Compression

Best Option:

  • Comp VCA-65 (transparent glue)

Suggested Settings:

  • Ratio: 2:1

  • Attack: Medium

  • Release: Auto or medium-fast

  • Gain Reduction: 1–2 dB max

Alternative flavors:

  • Comp FET-76 → Punchy & aggressive

  • Comp TUBE-STA → Warm & vintage

🎯 You want cohesion, not heavy compression.

Step 3 – Add Analog Color (Optional)

Use:

  • Pre 1973

  • Pre TridA

  • Pre V76

Lightly increase input drive for:

  • Harmonic richness

  • Thickness

  • Depth

⚠ Avoid audible distortion unless stylistic.

Step 4 – Control Frequencies with Multiband Compression

Plugin:

  • MultiComp

Use It To:

  • Tighten low-end

  • Smooth harsh mids

  • Control sharp highs

Keep gain reduction around 1–2 dB per band.

Step 5 – Stereo Enhancement (Carefully)

Options:

  • Subtle Chorus JUN-6 (Mix below 10%)

  • Light stereo widening tricks

  • Mid/Side EQ adjustments

⚠ Keep frequencies below 120 Hz mono for solid low-end.

Step 6 – Final Limiting & Loudness

Main Limiter:

  • Bus FORCE

Set:

  • Ceiling: -1 dBTP

  • Target loudness:

    • Streaming → -14 LUFS

    • Pop → -9 to -11 LUFS

    • EDM → -8 to -10 LUFS

Increase input gain until desired loudness without distortion.
